3 Tips to Maximize the Effects of Natural Facelift with Facial Exercises

Facial exercises are a great way to tone your face and make it look younger, but let’s admit it: it can be a long process. The day when you start your face yoga journey and the day when you are finally satisfied with the results may be quite some time apart.

For this reason, I have prepared tips to speed up the process. These tips will not only bring your success date much closer, but they will also take care of your health. Health and appearance go hand in hand – if you do something for your health, you will not only feel better, but also look better.

Tip No. 1: Build Up Your Facial Exercise Assortment

There are many schools of face yoga or facial exercises for women. They all teach different techniques, but usually include different exercises to cover one particular face area. 

One of the schools of face yoga which has very effective exercises is the Face Yoga Method. However, you can also find plenty of exercises for free on youtube.

As I have already mentioned in my post on Face Yoga Mistakes, do not concentrate just on one area of your face that you find problematic, instead, work with the entire face. There is an old saying that advises “Balance in everything”, and it also applies to your face. You don’t want to put your face out of balance by toning just one area of the face.

Let’s say you have found your facial exercise program or several facial exercises focusing on separate areas of your face: the forehead, the eyes, the cheeks (upper, lower), the nose, the mouth, the chin, and the neck.

Now, pick an exercise for each of these areas and do them for fourteen days. After that, increase the number of repetitions or hold them for a longer time period than initially.

When you notice that the exercises are not that difficult anymore or you get bored with them, switch them up with another set, and repeat the process.

This way, the muscles will get a new challenge every so often – even if you work the same area, the muscles involved will not be burdened in the same way. More importantly, there will be variety in your practice which will make it less likely for you to quit.

Tip No. 2: Drain the Lymph

The lymphatic system is like waste disposal and trash removing system of your body. Its task is to eliminate all waste products and toxins produced in the body. 

Well-flowing lymph is connected to the flow in your life – if your lymph doesn’t move and toxins accumulate in your body, there is a correlation to your life: you feel stuck in your life, you are in a place where you don’t want to be.

The more your lymph flows, the better your health is and the more your life becomes a flow of synchronicities.

So let’s take some garbage out – out of our bodies and out of our lives!

The best exercise to speed up the natural facelift process and drain the lymph is the downward dog yoga pose. However, you won’t be doing just the regular downward dog pose, you will be combining it with facial exercise and breathing.

The exercise:

  1. Get on all fours, assume the traditional downward dog pose.
  2. While in the pose, open your mouth to make a very long and narrow 0. Smile to tighten your cheeks.
  3. Hold the face yoga pose. Breathe in 4 times, breathe out 4 times.
  4. Release the face yoga pose.
  5. Lift the right heel. Breathe in.
  6. Put down the right heel and lift the left heel. Breathe out.
  7. Alternate between lifting the heels and breathe in and out simultaneously.
  8. Rest in child’s pose.

This exercise is very potent, but it will be even more efficient if you do it in the morning.

Morning is when your lymph really needs to get going. In the morning, your face may look very puffy because fluid and toxins have accumulated in your face and body overnight. Puffiness is a sure sign your lymph needs a bit of stimulation.

Another bonus of morning exercise is that whatever exercises or workouts you do in the morning, they will have twice the effect if you perform them in the morning rather than in the evening or afternoon. 

So a workout of 10 minutes in the morning has the same effect as a 20-minute workout in the evening.

It pays off to be an early bird, doesn’t it?

Tip No. 3: Eat Right

This tip is not meant to be a particular diet to follow. It is meant to be a guideline taken from naturopathy to maximize your health and assist rejuvenation.

Naturopathic medicine puts a lot of emphasis on eating the right food at the right time of day. 

The reason for this is the fact that, from 5 AM to 3 PM, the body can process nutrients from food at a 100% rate.

From 3 PM to 5 AM, the body’s capacity to process food falls to 30%.

By observing the biorhythm of your body, you will be able to improve your health, lose weight, and look younger – without special diets. 

How are you supposed to eat according to naturopathy?

In the morning, you can have carbs and any sweets (fruit is your best choice). This phase ends at noon. If you have children, allow them to have sweets in the morning only.

For lunch, you should have grains and vegetables. Lunchtime is the last time for eating complex carbs and starches.

For dinner, have some meat (preferably fish) and vegetables. Don’t have carbs or dairy products for dinner because they will make your body acid. An acidic body is a body in which disease thrives. Plus, acidity makes you look older.

Anti-aging food

Besides eating the right foods at the right time, you can include foods in your diet that actually make you look younger.

Now you are probably wondering what the magic foods are.

Well, it’s just one, and it’s… millet.

Millet is a great anti-aging food because it contains natural silicone. Silicone acid plays an important role in the health of your connective tissue, hair, nails, and skin.

Having millet in the morning is a great way to have a healthy breakfast with an anti-aging effect. To boost its beneficial properties, prepare it with plant-based milk or fruit juice.

Suggested recipe:

Millet With Fruit (Vegan – Friendly)

1 cup of millet, rinsed
2 cups of water
2 cups of soy milk
¾ cup of dates
½  cup of almonds
1 apple (cut in cubes)
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of cardamom
Boil the water and add millet.
Add dates and almonds.
As the porridge gets thicker, add soy milk.
Add apples and spices.
Cook for 15 – 20 minutes.
You can make more and store it in the fridge until the next day.
